About me
I graduated as B.Sc. in Robotics and Digital Systems from Tecnológico de Monterrey in June 2023. During my time as an undergraduate student, I had the privilege of leading one of the first efforts in Mexico on developing from zero a Self-Driving Car as part of Tec de Monterrey's 80th-anniversary celebrations.
I was an undergraduate researcher at the Robotics Laboratory at Tec de Monterrey, under the guidance of Dr. Herman Castañeda (hermancc@tec.mx), where I learned about dynamics modeling of a custom unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV), subsequently designing control techniques ranging from simple PID controllers to advanced robust Sliding Mode-based Controllers. I also contributed to two research papers on advanced robust control techniques, being first author on one of them. I also developed a trajectory generation method based on sigmoid-curve jerk profiles to obtain smooth references for an UUV (tested in simulations) on 2D maps. Finally, I had the opportunity to develop the lateral and longitudinal control system for an autonomous golf cart shuttle in under a month during the summer.
Currently, my interests lie on modeling and designing robust control and motion planning schemes for autonomous vehicles, either marine, aerial or terrestrial.
